मातुराज्ञावशाद्ब्रह्मन्कृतमेतन्मयाखिलम् । न मे भोगाभिलाषो वै कस्यचि द्भुवनस्य हि
māturājñāvaśādbrahmankṛtametanmayākhilam | na me bhogābhilāṣo vai kasyaci dbhuvanasya hi
Ô brahmane, tout cela, je ne l’ai accompli que sous l’ordre de ma mère. En vérité, je ne désire aucun plaisir mondain, en aucun monde.

It highlights vairāgya (dispassion): actions may be performed due to duty or obedience, yet the seeker’s inner aim remains freedom from bhoga (sense-enjoyment) and steady orientation toward Shiva as the supreme goal.
Linga/Saguṇa-Śiva worship trains the mind to shift from craving for worldly realms to devotion for the Lord Himself; the verse models that inner stance—acting outwardly as required, while inwardly remaining unattached and Shiva-centered.
Practice japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with a vow of simplicity, and apply Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) as a reminder of impermanence—strengthening detachment while keeping devotion firm.
