Description of the Pushpaka Vimana and Ravana’s Inner Palace
धूम्रामगरुधूपेन विमलां हंसपाण्डुराम्।चित्रां पुष्पोपहारेण कल्माषीमिव सुप्रभाम्।।5.9.28।।
dhūmrām agarudhūpena vimalāṃ haṃsapāṇḍurām |
citrāṃ puṣpopahāreṇa kalmāṣīm iva suprabhām ||5.9.28||
Enfumé par l’encens d’agaru, et pourtant sans tache, blanc comme le cygne ; bigarré par les offrandes de fleurs, il rayonnait d’un éclat superbe, tel Kalmāṣī, la vache illustre qui exauce les vœux.
It was smoky with fumes of agaru incence though spotless like a swan. It was colourful and radiant like Kamadhenu, the wish-fulfilling cow, because of the offering of flowers.
Outer signs of purity (white, fragrant, flower-offerings) do not guarantee inner righteousness; Satya requires seeing beyond ritualized beauty to ethical truth.
Hanumān observes the atmosphere of the chamber—incense smoke, whiteness, and floral decoration.
Vigilance—maintaining alertness and not being misled by pleasing sensory cues.
