सुन्दरकाण्डे अष्टपञ्चाशः सर्गः
हनुमद्वृत्तान्तकथनम्, सीताभिज्ञान-प्रदानम्, लङ्कादाह-वर्णनम्
इति शोकसमाविष्टश्चिन्तामहमुपागतः।।5.58.158।।अथाहं वाचमश्रौषं चारणानां शुभाक्षराम्।जानकी न च दग्धेति विस्मयोदन्तभाषिणाम्।।5.58.159।।
iti śoka-samāviṣṭaś cintām aham upāgataḥ |
athāhaṃ vācam aśrauṣaṃ cāraṇānāṃ śubhākṣarām |
jānakī na ca dagdheti vismayodanta-bhāṣiṇām ||
Accablé de chagrin, j’étais tombé dans l’angoisse ; alors j’entendis la parole de bon augure des Cāraṇas, annonçant, comme une nouvelle merveilleuse : «Jānakī n’a pas été brûlée».
