Restez silencieux et écoutez avec une attention sans faille, ô singes. Je vais déclarer la vérité sur la façon dont j'ai eu des nouvelles de la princesse de Mithila.
'O monkeys! I shall tell you in detail how I came to know the princess from Mithila. Listen quietly with rapt attention:
Satya (truthfulness) is foregrounded: Sampāti promises a factual account (‘tattva’) and asks for disciplined listening, reflecting dharma in speech and learning.
Sampāti begins his explanation to the vānaras, preparing to narrate how he has knowledge relevant to Sītā’s whereabouts.
Integrity in testimony—speaking carefully and asking the audience to listen attentively so truth is transmitted without distortion.
