Sampāti’s Counsel and the Revelation of Laṅkā
अस्माकं विहिता वृत्तिर्निसर्गेण च दूरतः।विहिता पादमूले तु वृत्तिश्चरणयोधिनाम्।।4.58.32।।
asmākaṁ vihitā vṛttir nisargeṇa ca dūrataḥ |
vihitā pāda-mūle tu vṛttiś caraṇa-yodhinām ||
Par nature, notre mouvement est ordonné pour aller loin. Mais pour ceux qui combattent à pied, leur portée est fixée uniquement à ce que leurs pieds peuvent traverser.
'Our movement and vision naturally extends to distant places. For those fighting on foot, the movement is restricted to the extent of foot movement.
Svadharma: different beings have different ordained capacities; Dharma is to recognize limits and coordinate roles wisely in pursuit of righteousness.
