पश्चिमदिशि अन्वेषणादेशः
Instructions for the Western Search Party
अथ प्रस्थाप्य सुग्रीवस्तान्हरीन्दक्षिणां दिशम्।अब्रवीन्मेघसङ्काशं सुषेणं नाम यूथपम्।।4.42.1।।
tataḥ suṣeṇa-pramukhāḥ plavaṅgamāḥ sugrīva-vākyaṃ nipuṇaṃ niśamya | āmantrya sarve plavagādhipaṃ te jagmur diśaṃ tāṃ varuṇābhiguptām ||
Alors les singes, conduits par Suṣeṇa, ayant écouté avec attention les paroles avisées de Sugrīva, prirent congé du seigneur des singes et s’en allèrent vers cette direction gardée par Varuṇa.
Sushena and other leaders heard the expert advice of Sugriva, and took leave of him.They went towards the western direction ruled by Varuna.ityārṣē śrīmadrāmāyaṇē vālmīkīyē ādikāvyē kiṣkindhākāṇḍē dvicatvāriṅśassargaḥ৷৷Thus ends the fortysecond Sarga in the Kishkinda Kanda of the first epic, the Holy Ramayana composed by sage Valmiki.
Dharma is disciplined cooperation: hearing counsel carefully, taking proper leave, and carrying out assigned duty with respect to rightful leadership.
After receiving Sugrīva’s directives, Suṣeṇa and the other vanara leaders depart to begin their assigned search route.
Vinaya (respectful conduct) and kartavya-niṣṭhā (steadfastness in duty).
