Asking the monkeys to rise to their feet, the mighty and powerful Sugriva entered the inner chambers of his brother.
Kingship as responsibility: a ruler acknowledges and reassures the people, restoring order with humane speech and action.
After being welcomed, Sugrīva responds to the gathered citizens and proceeds into the palace inner quarters formerly associated with his brother.
Sugrīva’s public-minded leadership—he addresses and uplifts his subjects before attending to royal matters.
