Vali’s Funeral Rites and the Consolation of the Bereaved
'No lamentation revives the dead. So you should take up whatever is required now.
Dharma here is expressed as steadfast support and loyalty: after advising appropriately, Lakṣmaṇa remains aligned with his brother’s righteous course.
After addressing Sugrīva regarding the immediate duties following Vāli’s death, Lakṣmaṇa returns to stand near Rāma.
Fraternal devotion and disciplined service (sevā-niṣṭhā): Lakṣmaṇa’s constant readiness beside Rāma.
