(Sarga 53)
Rāma’s Lament, Vigil for Sītā, and Lakṣmaṇa’s Consolation
Thereafter Rama and Sita, the duo, nurturers of righteousness, from their comfortable seats moved to the bed well-made under the banyan tree not far (from there where they were sitting) and lay down (to sleep).
Dharma is lived through simplicity and acceptance: even in hardship, the righteous adapt without abandoning moral commitment.
After the emotional exchange, the narrative shifts to the practical close of the day as Rāma and Sītā settle to rest in the forest.
Contentment and steadfastness—choosing a modest forest resting place while remaining devoted to dharma.
