Rama and Lakshmana at Sabari’s Hermitage
Rama and Lakshmana on hearing the pious words of Savari joyfully exclaimed, This is really wonderful.
Dharma is the capacity to recognize and honor righteousness in others; Rāma’s joy arises from hearing speech aligned with truth and right conduct.
After Śabarī’s account and request, the narrator describes Rāma’s internal response—joy and amazement—shared with Lakṣmaṇa.
Rāma’s discernment and respect for dharma: he responds not with pride but with appreciative wonder toward sincere righteousness.
