Mais Maithilī, fille de Janaka, le corps envahi par le chagrin, tomba sous le pouvoir des rākṣasīs, telle une biche parmi des tigresses.
Sita, daughter of Janaka, engulfed in grief found herself like a doe under the control of tigresses.
Dharma includes protection of the vulnerable; predatory domination over the innocent is condemned. The simile frames adharma as the strong terrorizing the weak.
Sītā, newly abducted, is surrounded and controlled by demonesses, and her fear and grief are emphasized through vivid animal imagery.
Sītā’s endurance (kṣānti) is emphasized—she suffers without abandoning truth or righteousness.
