Voilà toute la force que tu peux montrer, rākṣasa infâme. Plus faible que moi, tu rugis en vain.
O lowly demon, you have already exhibited all your strength. Inferior to me in energy, you are needlessly roaring.
The verse contrasts truthful assessment with empty intimidation: dharma values reality-aligned speech (satya) and the refusal to be shaken by noisy threats. It also frames the aggressor’s roaring as futile when opposed by rightful strength.
In the midst of battle, Rama verbally rebukes Khara, dismissing his displays of force and threats.
Rama’s fearlessness and clarity—he speaks from steadiness and confidence, not panic.
