Praise of the Merits of Sacred Ponds, Tree-Planting, and Water-Charities

अहोश्वत्थसमो नास्ति वृक्षरूपी हरिर्भुवि । यथा पूज्यो द्विजो लोके यथा गावो यथामराः

ahośvatthasamo nāsti vṛkṣarūpī harirbhuvi | yathā pūjyo dvijo loke yathā gāvo yathāmarāḥ

Ah ! Sur la terre, nul arbre n’égale l’aśvattha, car Hari y demeure sous la forme d’un arbre. De même que le brāhmane est digne de vénération dans le monde, de même le sont les vaches, et de même les dieux.
