The Description of Kāśī (Kāśī-māhātmya): Avimukta, Kapālamocana, and Śiva’s Purification
Suta (narrating to the sages; addressing a leading brahmin as 'viprendra')
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It portrays ideal reverence: even Hara (Śiva) honors Hari (Viṣṇu) with daṇḍavat-pranāma and añjali, teaching humility and devotion before the Supreme.
Bhakti is shown through embodied worship—prostration (daṇḍavat) and prayerful salutation (añjali)—indicating surrender, respect, and loving acknowledgment of the Lord’s presence.
It reflects prayoga (ritual practice) and śiṣṭācāra: traditional gestures of worship such as añjali and daṇḍavat-pranāma used in pūjā and temple etiquette, rather than a technical lesson in a specific Vedāṅga.
