Pour la santé de mon mari, j'organiserai respectueusement le rite avec des offrandes comprenant un homme, une chèvre et un buffle, et j'observerai dix jeûnes.
Narada (narrative voice within the Narada Purana’s Uttara-Bhaga dialogue tradition)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhayanaka
Secondary Rasa: karuna
It presents fasting (upavāsa) performed with reverence as a dharmic means to seek ārogya (health) and well-being for a family member, linking personal discipline with desired auspicious outcomes.
Although the verse is ritual-focused, the emphasis on performing the act “with reverence” (sādaram) points to the inner attitude central to bhakti—sincere, devotional intent accompanying observance.
It highlights ritual procedure and vrata-structure (numbered fasts—ten upavāsas), reflecting practical dharma/kalpa-style organization of observances rather than grammar or astrology.
