Adhyaya 92 — Devi’s Assurance of Protection and the Fruits of Reciting the Devi Mahatmyam
The Purāṇa treats sacred narrative as a living component of ritual—worship is not only offerings but also remembrance and proclamation of divine acts, strengthening communal faith and moral imagination.
Dharma: instruction for ritual conduct and communal observance; it shows how Purāṇic kathā becomes liturgy.
‘Uccāryaṃ’ (uttered) and ‘śrāvyam’ (heard) indicate a circulation of śakti through sound and shared attention; ritual becomes a medium for installing the Devī’s presence in the collective field.
