Adhyaya 88 — The Manifestation of the Matrikas and the Slaying of Raktabija
वज्रहस्ता तथैवेन्द्रि गजराजोपरि स्थिता ।
प्राप्ता सहस्रनयना यथा शक्रस्तथैव सा ॥
vajrahastā tathaivaindrī gajarājopari sthitā /
prāptā sahasranayanā yathā śakrastathaiva sā
De même, Aindrī arriva, tenant le vajra (la foudre) dans sa main, assise sur le seigneur des éléphants ; elle était aux mille yeux, tout comme Śakra (Indra) — telle elle était.

The gods’ powers are shown as contingent and derivational—Shakti can assume every divine attribute. Devotion is redirected from limited office-holders (devas) to the underlying Power that enables them.
