वरिष्ठाय वरेण्याय परस्मै परमात्मने । नमोऽखिलजगद्व्यापिस्वरूपायात्ममूर्तये ॥
variṣṭhāya vareṇyāya parasmai paramātmane / namo 'khilajagadvyāpisvarūpāyātmamūrtaye
Hommage à la Très-Excellente, à la plus digne d’être choisie ; au Soi suprême, transcendant. Hommage à Toi dont la nature pénètre l’univers entier, dont l’incarnation est le Soi de tous.

The divine is both beyond and within all beings. Ethically, this supports reverence for life and restraint from harm: to injure another is to ignore the all-pervading Self.
Serves the Purāṇic aim of Dharma and spiritual instruction; it is theological framing rather than direct Sarga/Manvantara/Vaṃśa narration.
‘Ātma-mūrti’ implies the deity as the inner Self (antarātman). The stuti collapses the boundary between worshipper and worshipped, pointing to realization (aparokṣa-anubhava) as the culmination of devotion.
