Adhyaya 34 — Madālāsā’s Instruction on Sadācāra (Householder Conduct, Purity, and Daily Rites)
अन्तर्जानुस्तथाऽचामेत् त्रिश्चतुर्वा पिबेदपः ।
परिमृज्य द्विरास्यान्तं खानि मूर्धानमेव च ॥
antarjānus tathā 'cāmet triś caturvā pibed apaḥ | parimṛjya dvir āsyāntaṃ khāni mūrdhānam eva ca ||
Les genoux ramenés (dans la posture requise), on doit accomplir l’ācamana en sirotant l’eau trois fois—ou quatre. Puis, essuyant deux fois l’intérieur de la bouche, on doit aussi essuyer les orifices des sens et la tête.

Wiping the ‘openings’ signifies sealing leakage of attention (indriya-saṃyama); cleansing mouth and head frames speech and thought as purified before entering worship, study, or meals.
