DharmaPitri PujaŚrāddha-vidhiPreta and Pitṛ differentiation

FAQs

The rite acknowledges both continuity (the established pitṛ-line) and immediacy (the newly dead preta), expressing responsibility across generations and transitional states.

Ancillary dharma/ācāra instruction.

The separation of preta from pitṛs symbolizes an ontological transition: rites ‘stabilize’ the departed from liminality toward ancestral integration, even when full sapiṇḍīkaraṇa may not apply.
