Chapter 58: Arjuna’s Deployment of the Indra-Weapon
बाहुभिश्न सकेयूरैविंचित्रैश्व महारथै: । सुवर्णचित्रै: कवचैर्ध्वजैश्न विनिपातितै:
vaiśampāyana uvāca | bāhubhiś ca keyūraiś ca vicitraiś ca mahārathaiḥ | suvarṇacitraiḥ kavacair dhvajaiś ca vinipātitaiḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana dit : Dans cette bataille, bien des guerriers—frappés et tourmentés par les flèches de Pārtha (Arjuna)—tombèrent morts. Des bras ornés de brassards keyūra furent tranchés et s’abattirent sur le sol. De grands combattants de char, parés d’atours et d’ornements divers, étaient renversés. Des cuirasses dorées, finement ouvragées, et des étendards abattus gisaient épars de toutes parts. À ces signes de désastre, toute l’armée fut saisie de trouble, presque privée de raison par la peur.
