Chapter 58: Arjuna’s Deployment of the Indra-Weapon
दृष्टवा तु पार्थस्य रणे शरै: स्वरथमावृतम् । स विस्फार्य धनु: श्रेष्ठ मेघस्तनितनि:स्वनम्
dṛṣṭvā tu pārthasya raṇe śaraiḥ sva-ratham āvṛtam | sa visphārya dhanuḥ śreṣṭhaṃ megha-stanita-niḥsvanam ||
Vaiśampāyana dit : Voyant, sur le champ de bataille, son propre char recouvert des flèches de Pārtha (Arjuna), Droṇa—resplendissant dans la mêlée—fit vibrer son arc d’exception d’un son profond comme le tonnerre des nuages. Le tirant jusqu’à l’oreille, il trancha ensuite, par ses propres volées, toute la pluie de traits d’Arjuna, révélant la maîtrise disciplinée d’un maître-guerrier au cœur des contraintes de la guerre.
