Virāṭa-parva Adhyāya 54 — Missile-Exchange and Tactical Redirection

एतेन तूर्ण प्रतिपादयेमान् श्वेतान् हयान् काज्चनरश्मियोक्त्रान् जवेन सर्वेण कुरु प्रयत्न- मासादये<हं कुरुसिंहवृन्दम्
etena tūrṇaṃ pratipādayemān śvetān hayān kāñcanaraśmiyoktrān | javena sarveṇa kuru prayatnam āsādaye'haṃ kurusiṃhavṛndam ||
Vaiśampāyana dit : «Fais courir sans délai ces chevaux blancs sur cette route—harnachés de rênes d’or—et déploie toute la vitesse possible, afin que j’atteigne l’armée des lions des Kuru. Vois : comme un éléphant brûle de se heurter à un autre éléphant, ainsi ce fils de cocher, Karṇa, au cœur mauvais, veut se mesurer à moi. Conduis-moi d’abord vers lui. Soutenu par Duryodhana, il s’est enflé d’orgueil.»
