Dhaumya’s Counsel on Incognito Conduct in a Royal Household (राजवसतौ आचरण-निति)
आन्तरे चैव बाहों च राज्ञा यश्चाथ सर्वदा । आदिट्टो नैव कम्पेत स राजवसतिं वसेत्,जो राजाके द्वारा आन्तरिक (धन एवं स्त्री आदिकी रक्षा) और बाहा (शत्रुविजय आदि) कार्योंके लिये आदेश मिलनेपर कभी शंकित या भयभीत नहीं होता, वही राजाके यहाँ रह सकता है
āntare caiva bāhoś ca rājñā yaścātha sarvadā | ādiṣṭo naiva kampeta sa rājavasatiṁ vaset ||
Dhaumya dit : «Seul doit demeurer dans la maison du roi celui qui, lorsque le roi lui commande des tâches du dedans (garder les richesses et les appartements des femmes) et du dehors (vaincre les ennemis et assurer la victoire), ne chancelle jamais—ni par doute ni par peur.»
