suduḥkhā khalu kāryāṇāṃ gatir vijñātum antataḥ | tasmāt sarve nirīkṣadhvaṃ kva nu te pāṇḍavā gatāḥ || 2 ||
Vaiśampāyana dit : «Il est en vérité extrêmement difficile de discerner avec justesse l’issue ultime des entreprises. Aussi, examinez tous avec soin et déterminez où sont allés ces Pāṇḍavas.»
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Human plans and actions often have outcomes that are hard to foresee; therefore one should proceed with careful investigation and discernment rather than assumption.
The narrator signals uncertainty about the Pāṇḍavas’ movements and urges those present to search and determine where the Pāṇḍavas have gone, advancing the plot toward their hidden whereabouts in the Virāṭa episode.
