Virāṭa-parva Adhyāya 22 — Draupadī’s Abduction Attempt and Bhīma’s Suppression of the Kīcakas
अथैनमाक्षिप्य बलाद् गृहमध्ये वृकोदर: । धूनयामास वेगेन वायुश्नण्ड इव द्रुमम्
athainam ākṣipya balād gṛhamadhye vṛkodaraḥ | dhūnayāmāsa vegena vāyuśṇāṇḍa iva drumam ||
Vaiśampāyana dit : Alors Vṛkodara (Bhīma), l’ayant saisi et projeté de force à l’intérieur de la salle, le secoua violemment avec vitesse—comme une bourrasque furieuse qui malmène et fait tournoyer un arbre. La scène souligne l’exécution prompte de la justice contre l’abus de pouvoir de Kīcaka et la protection de l’honneur de Draupadī, accomplie par une force décisive plutôt que par une cruauté prolongée.
