अर्जुनों यमजौ चोभौ द्रौपदी च यशस्विनी । स च भीमो महातेजा: सर्वेषामुत्तमो बली
arjuno yamajau cobhau draupadī ca yaśasvinī | sa ca bhīmo mahātejāḥ sarveṣām uttamo balī ||
Vaiśaṃpāyana dit : Arjuna, les deux jumeaux et l’illustre Draupadī—ainsi que Bhīma, rayonnant d’une grande splendeur—étaient les plus éminents en force parmi eux tous. Le récit souligne l’aptitude exceptionnelle et la résolution morale des Pāṇḍava, présentant leur puissance comme un appui à l’endurance juste plutôt que comme un simple instrument de domination.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights that true excellence includes both capability and character: the Pandavas’ superior strength and splendor are presented as resources meant to uphold dharma and endure hardship, not as grounds for arrogance.
Vaiśaṃpāyana enumerates key members of the Pandava group—Arjuna, the twins (Nakula and Sahadeva), Draupadī, and Bhīma—emphasizing that Bhīma in particular stands out as the foremost in strength among them.
