शूराश्च हि कृतास्त्राश्न सर्वे युद्धाभिकाड्क्षिण: । पाण्डवास्तावकाश्रैव तान्‌ रक्ष महतो भयात्‌,पाण्डव तथा आपके पुत्र सभी शूरवीर, अस्त्रविद्याके पारंगत तथा युद्धकी अभिलाषा रखनेवाले हैं। आप इन सबकी महान्‌ भयसे रक्षा कीजिये

śūrāś ca hi kṛtāstrāś ca sarve yuddhābhikāṅkṣiṇaḥ | pāṇḍavās tāvakāś caiva tān rakṣa mahato bhayāt ||

Vaiśaṃpāyana dit : «Car les Pāṇḍava comme tes propres fils sont tous vaillants, parfaitement instruits dans l’art des armes et avides de combat. Protège-les donc tous d’un grand désastre, afin que l’ardeur guerrière ne les précipite pas dans la ruine et l’adharma.»
