Omens and Reception During Keśava’s Departure
The verse highlights ethical reliability in leadership: once a commitment is made to a just cause, it should be honored through timely, concrete action—here, Kṛṣṇa immediately turns to a competent ally (Sātyaki) to advance the pledged objective.
After agreeing to the Pāṇḍava’s words/request and making a pledge, Kṛṣṇa (Janārdana) addresses Sātyaki, identified by lineage as Śini’s grandson, who is present and seated—signaling the next step in organizing support during the Udyoga (preparatory) phase.
