Bhīmasena’s Assertion of Strength
Udyoga Parva, Adhyāya 74
The verse highlights how anger manifests outwardly and becomes readable in one’s body and behavior; it implicitly urges restraint and self-mastery, especially in a tense pre-war setting where uncontrolled wrath can distort judgment and dharma.
Vaiśampāyana describes Bhīma’s visible signs of agitation—knitted brows and lip-biting—observing that these repeated gestures are driven by anger, indicating Bhīma’s inner turmoil as events move toward conflict.
