Udyoga-parva Adhyāya 64: Arjuna’s Instruction to Sanjaya
Message to the Kuru Assembly
एकतो हास्य दाराश्ष ज्ञातयश्ष सबान्धवा: | आत्मा च पृथिवी चेयमेकतश्च धनंजय:,श्रीकृष्णके लिये एक ओर स्त्री, कुटुम्बीजन, भाई-बन्धु, अपना शरीर और यह सारा भूमण्डल है, तो दूसरी ओर अकेला अर्जुन है (अर्थात् वे अर्जुनके लिये इन सबका त्याग कर सकते हैं)
ekato hāsya dārāś ca jñātayaś ca sabāndhavāḥ | ātmā ca pṛthivī ceyam ekataś ca dhanaṃjayaḥ ||
Pour Kṛṣṇa, d’un côté se tiennent ses épouses, ses proches et tous ses parents ; de ce côté se trouvent aussi lui-même et cette terre entière. De l’autre côté se tient Dhanañjaya (Arjuna) seul.

In the Udyoga Parva’s pre-war negotiations and counsel, Vidura speaks to expose the real alignment of forces and motives: despite the vast worldly stakes on one side, the opposing side is represented as ‘Arjuna alone,’ underscoring both Arjuna’s decisive value and the willingness of others to sacrifice everything for the chosen alliance.
