ki tu sañjaya me brūhi punas teṣāṃ viceṣṭitam | sañjaya! ko nu punaḥ me samakṣaṃ pāṇḍavānāṃ ceṣṭāyā varṇanaṃ karo | ko ’sau vīraḥ yo vegavān tejasvī mahādhanurdhara-pāṇḍavān punaḥ punaḥ samuttejayati yathā ghṛtāhutibhir agniḥ prajvalito bhavati ||

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights how resolve and conflict can be intensified by a catalyst—just as ghee makes fire blaze. Ethically, it warns that provocative influences and repeated incitement can push parties toward war, making restraint and wise counsel crucial.

Duryodhana presses Sañjaya to recount the Pāṇḍavas’ current actions and asks who among them (or among their supporters) repeatedly energizes and provokes those mighty archers, indicating his concern about their growing momentum toward confrontation.
