Educational Q&A

The verse highlights dharmic conduct in political life: even in urgent circumstances one follows proper protocol—respectful salutation, formal announcement, and orderly access to authority—showing that ethical communication and restraint support good governance.

A messenger/speaker requests the palace doorkeeper to check whether the king is awake, convey salutations, and announce him so he may enter to present an urgent petition; the doorkeeper then goes to the king to report this.
