सा त्वं सर्वविमोक्षाय तत्त्वमाख्याहि पूच्छत: । तथा विदध्यां सुश्रोणि कृत्यमाशु शुचिस्मिते,सुश्रोणि! मैं पूछ रहा हूँ। सबको संकटसे छुड़ानेके लिये कोई यथार्थ उपाय बताओ। शुचिस्मिते! मैं उस उपायको शीघ्र ही काममें लाऊँगा

Transliteration

sā tvaṁ sarvavimokṣāya tattvam ākhyāhi pṛcchataḥ | tathā vidadhyāṁ suśroṇi kṛtyam āśu śucismite ||

Translation

Bhīṣma dit : «Ainsi donc, toi qui en as la capacité, révèle-moi le moyen véritable par lequel tous pourront être délivrés de ce péril, car je t’interroge avec gravité. Ô femme aux hanches gracieuses, ô dame au sourire pur, dès que tu auras parlé, je mettrai promptement en œuvre la conduite nécessaire.»
