अम्बायाः तपोदीक्षा–रुद्रवर–आत्मदाहः
Amba’s Ascetic Vow, Rudra’s Boon, and Self-Immolation
ततस्ता राजशार्दूल धात्र्यो दाशार्णिकास्तदा । जम्मुरार्ति परां प्रेष्या: प्रेषयामासुरेव च
tatas tā rājarṣabha dhātryo dāśārṇikās tadā | jamburārtim parāṁ preṣyāḥ preṣayāmāsur eva ca ||
Alors, ô taureau parmi les rois, les nourrices de Dāśārṇa furent saisies d’une détresse extrême. Pour porter la nouvelle, elles dépêchèrent de nombreuses servantes auprès du roi de Dāśārṇa. Le passage souligne l’empressement du service fidèle et l’urgence morale ressentie par celles qui veillent sur la maison royale lorsqu’un malheur soudain l’atteint.
दुपद उवाच
The verse underscores responsible service (sevā-dharma): those entrusted with care in a royal household respond to crisis with swift action, prioritizing truthful communication and the welfare of those dependent on them.
After hearing troubling news, the Dāśārṇa wet-nurses become deeply distressed and promptly send many maidservants to the Dāśārṇa king to report the matter.
