Amba–Rama–Bhishma Dialogue on Vow and Refuge
ऑपन--माजल बछ। जि: अष्टस प्तत्याधिकशततमो< ध्याय: अम्बा और परशुरामजीका संवाद
bhīṣma uvāca |
evam uktas tadā rāmo jahi bhīṣmam iti prabho |
uvāca rudatīṁ kanyāṁ codayantīṁ punaḥ punaḥ ||
Bhīṣma dit : Alors Rāma (Paraśurāma), ainsi sollicité — « Seigneur, tue Bhīṣma ! » — parla à la jeune fille qui pleurait et le pressait sans cesse : « Belle enfant, princesse de Kāśī ! Selon mon vœu, je ne prends les armes que lorsqu’il y a nécessité pour un brāhmane versé dans les Veda. Sans une telle cause, je ne saisis pas les armes au gré du désir. Dès lors, tout en gardant ce vœu, quelle autre tâche puis-je accomplir pour toi ? »
