Shloka 22

अम्बोपाख्याने तापसानां विचारः तथा होत्रवाहनस्य उपदेशः

त्वया त्यक्ता गमिष्यामि यत्र तत्र विशाम्पते । तत्र मे गतय: सन्तु सन्त: सत्यं यथा ध्रुवम्‌,“राजन! यदि मेरी कही बात निश्चितरूपसे सत्य हो तो तुमसे परित्यक्त होनेपर मैं जहाँ- जहाँ जाऊँ, वहाँ-वहाँ साधु पुरुष मुझे सहारा देनेवाले हों”

tvayā tyaktā gamiṣyāmi yatra tatra viśāmpate | tatra me gatayaḥ santu santaḥ satyaṃ yathā dhruvam ||

Bhīṣma dit : « Ô seigneur des peuples, si ce que j’ai dit est bien la vérité ferme, alors, lorsque tu m’auras rejetée et que j’irai où je le devrai, que là je trouve ma voie soutenue par les hommes de bien — aussi sûrement que la vérité demeure inébranlable. »
