एवं कत्थसि कौन्तेय अकत्थन् पुरुषो भव | 'युद्धक्षेत्रमें भीष्मका सामना किये बिना ही तुम क्यों अपनी झूठी प्रशंसा करते हो? कुन्तीनन्दन! जैसे कोई अशक्त एवं मन्दबुद्धि पुरुष गन्धमादन पर्वतपर चढ़नेकी इच्छा करे, उसी प्रकार तुम भी अपने बारेमें बड़ी-बड़ी बातें किया करते हो। बातें न बनाओ; पुरुष बनो (पुरुषत्वका परिचय दो)

Ulūka raille le fils de Kuntī : « Pourquoi te vantes-tu ainsi ? Ne sois pas un homme qui ne fait que parler de vaillance : sois un homme par les actes. Si tu te dis vraiment héros, prouve-le en affrontant Bhīṣma sur le champ de bataille, au lieu de te louer à l’abri. » Ces paroles visent à susciter honte et colère, poussant l’adversaire à l’imprudence et l’éloignant d’un dharma mesuré.
