धृष्टद्युम्नमहं मन््ये सेनापतिमरिंदम । “हमारी सेना अत्यन्त शक्तिशाली, दुर्धर्ष और दुर्गम है। वह युद्धमें धृतराष्ट्रपुत्रोंकी सेनाका संहार कर डालेगी, इसमें संशय नहीं है। शत्रुदमन! मैं धृष्टद्युम्नको ही प्रधान सेनापति होनेयोग्य मानता हूँ || ४८ है ।। वैशम्पायन उवाच एवमुक्ते तु कृष्णेन सम्प्राह्ष्यन्नरोत्तमा:,वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं--राजन्! भगवान् श्रीकृष्णके ऐसा कहनेपर वे नरश्रेष्ठ पाण्डव बड़े प्रसन्न हुए। फिर तो युद्धके लिये 'सुसज्जित हो जाओ, सुसज्जित हो जाओ' ऐसा कहते हुए समस्त सैनिक बड़ी उतावलीके साथ दौड़-धूप करने लगे। उस समय प्रसन्न चित्तवाले उन वीरोंका महान् हर्षनबाद सब ओर गूँज उठा
dhṛṣṭadyumnam ahaṃ manye senāpatim ariṃdama | evam ukte tu kṛṣṇena samprahṛṣyann narottamāḥ |
«Je tiens Dhṛṣṭadyumna pour digne d’être le commandant de l’armée, ô dompteur d’ennemis.» Quand Kṛṣṇa eut parlé ainsi, les Pāṇḍava, les plus éminents des hommes, furent saisis de joie. Puis, criant : «À l’équipement ! À l’équipement !», tous les soldats s’élancèrent avec hâte aux préparatifs de la guerre, et la grande acclamation de ces héros retentit de toutes parts.
