मोहानुवर्ती सतत पापो द्वेष्टि च पाण्डवान् | “परंतु यह एकमात्र मिथ्यादर्शी कर्ण मोहवश सदा दुर्बुद्धि दुर्योधनका ही अनुसरण करनेवाला है। इसीलिये यह पापात्मा सर्वदा पाण्डवोंसे द्वेष ही रखता है
mohānuvartī satataṁ pāpo dveṣṭi ca pāṇḍavān |
Vaiśampāyana dit : «Mais Karṇa, cet homme pécheur, sans cesse entraîné par le moha (l’illusion), suit continuellement la voie de la sottise et s’attache à Duryodhana, à l’esprit dévoyé. C’est pourquoi cet être fautif nourrit toujours de la haine envers les Pāṇḍava.»
