मांसशोणितवर्ष च वृष्टं देवेन माधव । तथा गन्धर्वनगरं भानुमत् समुपस्थितम्,“माधव! बादल आकाशसे मांस और रक्तकी वर्षा करते हैं। अन्तरिक्षमें चहारदिवारी, खाईं, वप्र और सुन्दर फाटकोंसहित सूर्ययुक्त गन्धर्वनगर प्रकट दिखायी देता है। वहाँ सूर्यको चारों ओरसे घेरकर एक काला परिघ प्रकट होता है
sañjaya uvāca | māṁsaśoṇitavarṣa ca vṛṣṭaṁ devena mādhava | tathā gandharvanagaraṁ bhānumat samupasthitam |
Sañjaya dit : «Ô Mādhava, le dieu a fait pleuvoir de la chair et du sang. Et dans le ciel apparaît une cité des Gandharvas, éclatante, comme si elle se dressait tout entière sous nos yeux.»
