न चैष शक्तः पार्थानां यस्त्वमर्थमभीप्ससि । सूतपुत्रो दृढक्रोधो भ्राता दुःशासनश्व ते,“तुम जो कुन्तीके पुत्रोंका धन हड़प लेना चाहते हो, ऐसा करनेकी तुम्हारी शक्ति नहीं है। क्रोधको दृढ़तापूर्वक धारण करनेवाला सूतपुत्र कर्ण तथा तुम्हारा भाई दुःशासन--ये दोनों भी ऐसा करनेमें समर्थ नहीं हैं

Transliteration

na caiṣa śaktaḥ pārthānāṃ yastvam artham abhīpsasi | sūtaputro dṛḍhakrodho bhrātā duḥśāsanaś ca te ||

Translation

Vaiśampāyana dit : Tu n’es pas capable de t’emparer des richesses que tu convoites chez les fils de Pṛthā (Kuntī). Pas plus que Karṇa —le fils du cocher, farouche et inflexible dans sa colère— ni ton frère Duḥśāsana ne peuvent accomplir cela.
