एवमुक्ता तु सा देवी बाष्पमुत्सूज्य सस्वनम् । उवाच रुदती दीना बृहस्पतिमिदं वच:,देवताओंके यह बात कहनेपर शची देवी आँसू बहाती हुई फूट-फ़ूटकर रोने लगीं और दीन-भावसे बृहस्पतिजीको सम्बोधित करके इस प्रकार बोलीं--
evamuktā tu sā devī bāṣpam utsṛjya sasvanam | uvāca rudatī dīnā bṛhaspatim idaṁ vacaḥ ||
Quand les dieux eurent parlé ainsi, la déesse Śacī, submergée de chagrin, laissa couler ses larmes en sanglots sonores. Pleurant, accablée et humble dans la détresse, elle s’adressa à Bṛhaspati et dit ces paroles—
