Gālava Completes the Horse-Gift: Garuḍa’s Counsel and Viśvāmitra’s Acceptance
The verse links royal legitimacy to dharmic capability: the worth of heirs is emphasized as fitness to govern (pārthivau), suggesting that rulership is an ethical duty requiring strength and steadiness (satyavikrama), not merely inheritance.
As Nārada narrates, Gālava approaches a valorous king and presents a maiden, declaring that she will bear the king two sons who will be able to rule the earth—advancing the episode centered on securing outcomes through alliances and promised progeny.
