Mātali’s Proposal for Guṇakeśī and Sumukha’s Audience with Indra
As a colophon, the verse does not teach through direct instruction; it frames the ethical-political setting: choices of alliance, counsel, and rightful selection (vara) are part of dharma-driven statecraft aimed at stabilizing society and, ideally, preventing destructive conflict.
This is the chapter-ending marker stating that the 103rd chapter concludes within the Udyoga Parva, specifically in the Bhagavad-yāna section, during the episode where Mātali searches for a worthy bridegroom for his daughter.
