हन्त यत् ते प्रवक्ष्यामि तच्छुणुष्व समाहित: । ऋषीणां देवतानां च सम्भवं वसुधातले
hanta yat te pravakṣyāmi tac chṛṇuṣva samāhitaḥ | ṛṣīṇāṃ devatānāṃ ca sambhavaṃ vasudhātale ||
Vaiśampāyana dit : «Allons donc—écoute, l’esprit recueilli, ce que je vais te dire. Je rapporterai, avec clarté et bienveillance, la manifestation et l’origine des ṛṣi et des dieux à la surface de la terre.»
वैशम्पायन उवाच

Vaiśampāyana transitions into an explanatory section, announcing that he will recount the earthly manifestation/origins of ṛṣis and devatās, and instructs the listener to pay focused attention.
