Purification is presented as an inner transformation: through sacred bathing, sorrow and hostility are relinquished, and the person becomes fit for a higher, reconciled state beyond ordinary human limitations.
Vaiśampāyana describes the effect of bathing at this sacred spot (associated with the Mandākinī): the bather’s mortal disposition is said to fade, and they become free from grief, strain, and enmity—signaling readiness for the final ascent and resolution of lingering conflicts.
