Strī Parva 1: Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Lament and Saṃjaya’s Consolation
अश्वृत्थाम्न: श्रुतं कर्म शापादन्योन्यकारितात् । वृत्तान्तमुत्तरं ब्रूहि यदभाषत संजय:,अश्व॒त्थामाको श्रीकृष्णसे और पाण्डवोंको अश्वत्थामासे जो परस्पर शाप प्राप्त हुए थे, वहाँतक मैंने अश्वत्थामाकी करतूत सुन ली। अब उसके बादका वृत्तान्त बताइये कि संजयने धृतराष्ट्रसे क्या कहा?
Janamejaya uvāca | Aśvatthāmnaḥ śrutaṃ karma śāpād anyonyakāritāt | vṛttāntam uttaraṃ brūhi yad abhāṣata Sañjayaḥ ||
Janamejaya dit : «J’ai entendu l’acte d’Aśvatthāman et les malédictions réciproques nées de cette imprécation. Dis-moi maintenant ce qui advint ensuite : quel récit supplémentaire Sañjaya rapporta-t-il (à Dhṛtarāṣṭra) ?»
