Yuddha-yajña-vyākhyāna (The Battle as Sacrifice): Ambarīṣa–Indra Saṃvāda
अशोच्यो हि हतः शूर: स्वर्गलोके महीयते । युद्धस्थलमें मारे गये शूरवीरके लिये किसी प्रकार भी शोक नहीं करना चाहिये। वह मारा गया शूरवीर स्वर्गलोकमें प्रतिष्ठित होता है, अतः कदापि शोचनीय नहीं है
aśocyo hi hataḥ śūraḥ svargaloke mahīyate |
Ambarīṣa déclare qu’un vaillant guerrier tombé sur le champ de bataille ne doit pas être pleuré. Celui qui succombe en demeurant fidèle au devoir de la guerre obtient l’honneur au ciel ; ainsi, une telle mort n’est pas motif de chagrin, mais l’accomplissement du dharma des kṣatriya.
