Discourse on Wealth and Royal Duty
धनात् कुलं प्रभवति धनादू धर्म: प्रवर्धते । नाधनस्यास्त्ययं लोको न पर: पुरुषोत्तम
dhanāt kulaṃ prabhavati dhanād dharmaḥ pravardhate | nādhanasyāsty ayaṃ loko na paraḥ puruṣottama ||
Arjuna dit : De la richesse naissent le rang et la continuité d’une lignée ; et de la richesse aussi le dharma s’accroît et devient effectif dans le monde. Ô Puruṣottama ! Pour celui qui est sans richesse, ni ce monde n’apporte le bien-être, ni l’autre.
